Public Bar
The Public Bar at the
Braich Goch Bunkhouse is open for non-residents on three evenings
( Tuesday, Friday and Saturday ) per week and by arrangement on
special occasions ( Bank Holidays, New Year, sporting events, parties
etc ). Opening times are usually 6pm to 11pm. Exceptions to this
are on entertainment evenings when the bar can remain open up to
2am. For residents
the bar can be open 7 nights per week between 12 noon and 2am all
by prior arrangement.
The bar is ideal for large groups to spread out and there are plenty
of games to play both traditional and modern. Pool, Darts, Ringing
the Bull, Giant Jenga, Card Games, Dominoes and many more.
The Bar has a climbing wall and rope access training facility that
is available by request with good notice. The facility will only
be available under the supervision of the Braich Instructors.
Although Children are welcome at the Braich there are times when
it may not be so suitable. These time usually coincide with the
larger social occasions like the New year period.
Residents can pre-order
specific ales, at reasonable prices, from our suppliers
list which can be obtained from the Braich. As the Braich is a public
bar the consumption of residents' own alcohol is not permitted in
the public area.
The Braich are well versed in fundraising activities.
Good causes supported are Children 1n Need where some sort of silly
activity takes place. Cerebral Palsy Wales and the The Wales Air
Ambulance are a popular choice for fundraising. New year at the
Braich can be a busy affair. Fancy dress is usually the order of
the day with a different theme each year. There is usually a good
turn out of locals with the residents joining in. Over the New year
period there are often several other attractions. A quiz on one
night and live music on another. Quite often there will be a jolly
pub games fun night too with prizes.

The Gwyl Corris Festival is very important to the
Braioch Goch with many events taking place here along with the Corris
Institute, Corris Craft Centre and the Festival Marquee on the Community
Playing Field. The Fetival is usually held at the end of August
each year.
