Public Bar

 

The Public Bar at the Braich Goch Bunkhouse is open for non-residents on three evenings ( Tuesday, Friday and Saturday ) per week and by arrangement on special occasions ( Bank Holidays, New Year, sporting events, parties etc ). Opening times are usually 6pm to 11pm. Exceptions to this are on entertainment evenings when the bar can remain open up to 2am. For residents the bar can be open 7 nights per week between 12 noon and 2am all by prior arrangement.

The bar is ideal for large groups to spread out and there are plenty of games to play both traditional and modern. Pool, Darts, Ringing the Bull, Giant Jenga, Card Games, Dominoes and many more.

The Bar has a climbing wall and rope access training facility that is available by request with good notice. The facility will only be available under the supervision of the Braich Instructors.

Although Children are welcome at the Braich there are times when it may not be so suitable. These time usually coincide with the larger social occasions like the New year period.

Residents can pre-order specific ales, at reasonable prices, from our suppliers list which can be obtained from the Braich. As the Braich is a public bar the consumption of residents' own alcohol is not permitted in the public area.

The Braich are well versed in fundraising activities. Good causes supported are Children 1n Need where some sort of silly activity takes place. Cerebral Palsy Wales and the The Wales Air Ambulance are a popular choice for fundraising. New year at the Braich can be a busy affair. Fancy dress is usually the order of the day with a different theme each year. There is usually a good turn out of locals with the residents joining in. Over the New year period there are often several other attractions. A quiz on one night and live music on another. Quite often there will be a jolly pub games fun night too with prizes.

The Gwyl Corris Festival is very important to the Braioch Goch with many events taking place here along with the Corris Institute, Corris Craft Centre and the Festival Marquee on the Community Playing Field. The Fetival is usually held at the end of August each year.
